Welcome to the IDTA pages on DDC's web site
These pages originally aimed to help IDTA members in England & Wales understand the IDTA Vetting Scheme and the impact of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2008 in England and Wales or the PVG Scheme in Scotland.
However, in February 2011 the Coalition Government announced that ISA registration, the main program that resulted from the Act being passed, would not be going ahead. They further announced that new legislation would be drafted to bring about changes from 2013, but until then the current Disclosure service would continue as before.
Despite the cancellation of ISA registration, the Scotland Parliament decided that they would continue to roll out their equivalent program so members working in Scotland come under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme from 28th February 2011.
CRB Price Increase
Pleae note that as from 6th April 2011 the CRB have increased their fee for an Enhanced Disclosure from £36 to £44.
The increase is to cover the CRB’s additional costs for operating the parts of the ISA registration program that were not cancelled in the Government’s announcement in February 2011. This is essentially the vetting & barring scheme, whereby criminal offences and incident reports from employers/regulators are reviewed to see if the subject should be considered for barring, even though they have not been barred by a court.
