DCC: Due Diligence Check

How long do they take to get?

The overall time to get a Disclosure is largely a function of the time the applicant takes to complete and return the form (correctly) and the time taken at the CRB or SCRO.

For applications using DDC's paper process we send out the application form the same day the client gives us the applicant's contact details. We remind the applicant to complete and return the form as per an agreed (with the client) schedule and process the application form the same day we receive it (see standards)

With the online (paperless) process, DDC's system automatically sends an e-mail to the applicant immediately their details are submitted by the client. This gives them the user name & password to access their online form and again we will issue reminders to them until a completed application is received. Alternatively, if the the applicant brings their data and documents to a document checker the application can be completed there & then.

The CRB element varies depending on which level of Disclosure is required and, for Enhanced Disclosures, whether the Local Police Force has a backlog. It can be very quick - we have had applications initiated in the morning, completed and submitted by 12.30 and an Enhanced Disclosureissued by 4.30. Unfortunately this is rare and impossible to predict, so we measure the time taken for the applicant to complete their part and for the CRB or Disclosure Scotland to issue the Disclosure for every application we submit. From this data we produce a monthly chart giving the average, broken down into Standard and Enhanced applications as below.

As you can see, Standard Disclosures can be very quick to get if the applicant responds quickly.
