DDC is pleased to announce that we will be exhibiting at the National Education Leaders Conference (nEdEx) 2026. The event is on Thursday 8th October 2026 at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Milton Keynes.

The event, hosted by the Network for Education Excellence (nEdEx), brings together headteachers, trust leaders and senior education professionals for a day of insight, networking and best practice. There will be over 25 speakers and sessions covering key challenges facing the education sector.

Meet DDC at nEdEx

As a returning Partner for 2025–26, we will be attending the conference and are looking forward to meeting schools, academies and education trusts from across the UK.

DDC have years of experience in the education sector providing DBS checks and pre-employment screening. So have a strong understanding of the importance of a robust recruitment processes within education. Schools have a responsibility to ensure appropriate safeguarding measures are in place when recruiting staff and volunteers, while also meeting wider legal and compliance obligations.

Our team will be available throughout the event to discuss how organisations can strengthen their recruitment and safeguarding processes. The team will also be available to provide insight into new guidance. Including the volunteer supervision exemption and Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance update relating to online searches.

Supporting Safer Recruitment in Education

Safeguarding starts before a candidate joins your organisation. A thorough recruitment process can help schools identify potential risks and ensure appropriate checks are completed before employment begins.

DDC provides a range of services designed to support safer recruitment in schools and education, including:

  • DBS Checks: Basic, Standard and Enhanced DBS checks, critical to schools to support appropriate criminal record screening and ensure new recruits are not barred from interactions with young people.
  • Social Media and Online Searches: Helping organisations systematically and fairly, review publicly available information as part of their safer recruitment process.
  • Right to Work Checks: Helping employers be compliant and making it easy to verify a candidate’s eligibility to work in the UK.

These checks form an important part of a consistent, well-documented and compliance-focused recruitment process.
