The support and charity work that we do

DDC Supporting the local community, at DDC we try to put something back into our local community in a variety of different ways. Below are a few of the events that our staff have taken part in, in the hope of enriching the local area and staying healthy:

DDC Supporting the local community and encouraging the team to raise money and keep healthy at the same time!

This year several of the team have chosen to run the Pretty Muddy Race For Life, in aid of Cancer Research UK. There will be 10 of the DDC Team running the 5 kilometer course on the 8th May 2016, supported by friends and family. Anyone wishing to sponsor the team can go to their Just Giving charity page by clicking on the link below. All donations are welcome for this great cause, and we hope the day is not too muddy for the ladies!

LOROS – Our chosen charity

The Team at DDC regularly take part in fun days to raise money for this Leicestershire based charity. LOROS provide free, high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill adult patients, their family and carers. Here are just a few of the events/days that the team have undertaken in the recent past to support this charity:

Casual day – this is an old favorite of the team here where the more professional dress code is relaxed for the day and staff are encouraged to wear their ‘normal’ clothes, and donate for the pleasure of doing so. Thankfully this year, no one chose to come to work in a ‘onesie’!

Christmas Card Appeal – every year the team agree not to send Christmas Cards to each other and instead all write a seasonal message of good cheer on a large notice board, for everyone to read. Any money they would have spent on cards is donated to LOROS together with the Christmas Jumper Day fund.

Christmas Jumper Day – Another classic! The team all wear Christmas Jumpers and prizes were given out for the best efforts. Voting is in secret and Santa even made an appearance to award the prizes.

Charity shop donations – The team regularly gift items to the local LOROS charity shop in Syston, to help with their fundraising in the local area.

Supporting local sporting teams

This year Due Diligence Checking were invited to sponsor a local rugby team, Ayelstone St James Rugby Football Club (known locally as ‘Jimmies’). We purchased new training kit and away shirts for the 1st XV team. We wish Jimmies all the best for the current season, playing in the Midlands 3 East (North) league.

Supporting Syston In Bloom

Every year we sponsor a set of hanging baskets as part of the ‘Syston in Bloom’ entry into the ‘East Midlands in Bloom’ competition. This is a competition run across the East Midlands to encourage local communities to take pride in their public areas, parks and gardens to the benefit of all local residents and businesses. We are very proud to be part of this great event and the fantastic work they do to enrich the lives of local people.
