The DDC Charity Bake Off – Baking the world a better place.

We at DDC are very proud to support our chosen charity LOROS Hospice. LOROS is a local charity close to the hearts of many. Caring for over 2,500 people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland – LOROS deliver free, high-quality compassionate care and support for terminally ill patients, their family and care givers.
Over the last 4 weeks, the entire DDC team have taken part in the office bake-off and raised £141! The business will also be matching this and donating a grand total of £282 to LOROS.
We’ve been tracking the progress on our social media but in case you missed all the action, here’s a quick rundown of all the spectacular bakes we enjoyed in the office (excuse the puns, we’re only trying to raise some dough for charity).
Week 1
There is muffin better to kick off the competition (and a Monday) then with some cupcakes! The winning bakes were the gorgeous-looking raspberry and white chocolate cupcakes.
Week 2
Good things crumb to those who wait, and cookie week was definitely worth the wait! The winner of week two was the chunky chocolate chip cookies – choc choc hooray!
Week 3
There were definitely no tricks and a lot of treats during Halloween week, boo! Week three’s best-tasting (and best dressed) bakes were the ‘Mummy’ brownie.
Week 4
Life’s always batter with a good traybake (or four)! The Biscoff tray bake was the star of week four as it left us wanting more and more!
Finals Week
We rounded up the competition by challenging our finalists to bake a cake with at least two layers! The finalists all baked incredibly but the bake that took the cake and won ‘The DDC Charity Bake-off 2022’ was the Biscoff Marble cake!
