The DBS will reduce fees for Basic, Standard and Enhanced DBS checks from 5th October 2026, helping employers, organisations and individuals reduce the cost of DBS applications.

From 1 August 2026, the Scottish Government will fund Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme application fees for eligible workers joining social care commissioned services in Scotland.
