Other than BPSS checks, what other checks are recommended?

Do I need to retrospectively check employees?
If you have assurances in place to access government assets, then there is no requirement to retrospectively check existing employees. It is important however that you re-check an individual’s immigration status where they have time-limited right to work in the UK. In addition, a basic DBS check is only a ‘snap-shot’ of the individual’s unspent criminal record. Additionally, you may wish to set a re-check policy to ensure you hold an up-to-date record, and nothing has changed
