Certified digital identity service provider

Due Diligence Checking are excited to announce that we are a certified digital identity service provider (IDSP) for DBS and right to work checks. The certification was awarded following a rigorous audit process of our entire service including digital identity systems, staff, governance and policies.

Full details of our certification can be found on the Government website – Digital Identity Certification Scheme

This fantastic achievement is a huge step forward in supporting clients with a seamless, user friendly and secure identity solution for both DBS and right to work checks. Our certification as an IDSP by the British Assessment Bureau is Government approved as part of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) UK digital identity and attributes trust framework.

Why choose a certified IDSP?

Choosing a certified IDSP provides assurances that the service meets the relevant scheme guidance and the DSIT standards set in the trust framework. Although it is not mandatory for employers to use a certified IDSP for the purposes of right to work, the Home Office recommends the use of a certified IDSP like Due Diligence Checking.

For basic, standard and enhanced DBS checks organisations must use a certified IDSP.

Why is digital identity important?

Digital identity is important as both the DBS document checking guidelines and right to work legislation highlight that organisations must verify original documents in person.

Digital identity is perfect for you if your organisation has an expanding remote workforce or limited resources to conduct in-person checks. DDC’s digital identity solution will support organisations to meet compliance requirements and help save time.

Onboard faster and save resources whilst being compliant at every stage.

By choosing a certified IDSP such as DDC, you can save time with remote identity verification checks.

How does DDC’s digital identity service work?

DDC’s certified digital identity service is a simple three step process. Verify an applicant’s identity, without the need to see them or their documents in person.

DDC offers this service for all products. From individual right to work or DBS checks, up to full pre-employment screening packages.

This streamlined process starts with the applicant accessing the portal to provide any required information. They will then be invited to download the DDC ID app by scanning a QR code. After that it’s a simple three-step process:

Step 1: The applicant uses the camera on their smartphone to scan their document before allowing the technology in the app to read the chip to check all the security features on their identity document.

Step 2: The applicant takes a selfie and completes a liveness test to compare the photo on the identity document.

Step 3: The checks take a matter of minutes and the results are available immediately so the application can be submitted.

It’s that simple!
