Organisations should complete the following checks during the screening process:
- Identity check; confirming name and date of birth
- Address verification
- Right to work in the UK
- Employment history (five years) including self-employment and education
- Verification of employment gaps over 31 days
- Criminal record check (Basic DBS)
- Professional membership (SIA or other professions)
- Adverse credit check
- PEPs and sanctions
