The DBS are changing their fees on 2nd December 2024
October 22nd, 2024 by Daisy Birch
What will the new DBS fees be?
The DBS recently announced their plans to increase their fees as per the DBS News, from the 2nd December 2024. The cost increase will automatically be reflected in the pricing for checks submitted to the DBS from this date. New fees to include:
DBS Check | Old Fee | New Fee |
Basic DBS check | £18.00 | £21.50 |
Standard DBS check | £18.00 | £21.50 |
Enhanced DBS check | £38.00 | £49.50 |
Standard and Enhanced checks for volunteer roles will remain free of charge.
When will this change take place?
The new pricing structure will be in place for all applications submitted to the DBS from the 2nd December 2024. Please note that this is the date that the DBS receive the application through e-Bulk or the web service.
Why has this change occurred?
The DBS report that they have reviewed their charges to ensure that all associated costs are recovered from the fees charged. As highlighted by the Disclosure & Barring Service, quality remains at the core of what the DBS look to do in their delivery of product, services and in the decisions they make.
Whilst price increases are never a welcome change, the team at DDC will remain vigilant to ensure applications are submitted quickly and accurately for existing clients. The DDC Countersignatory Team shall continue to take additional steps to prevent any DBS withdrawals or the need to re-submit applications due to data mis-matches or job role queries.
What will DDC be doing about these changes?
Due to this being a government fee, DDC will be applying the increased fee to the system and to all clients without the need to make further contact. Please ensure that all system users are aware of the change, and any invoicing requirements are met.
For existing clients, please see the news article in your client area for further information, including the specific ways DDC will be handling your individual applicants depending on payment method.
If you have any questions regarding your account or the new DBS fees, please contact DDC on 0845 644 3298 or 0116 260 3055 or contact@ddc.uk.net.
