Is DDC’s SSL certificate valid?

March 14th, 2013 by Jonathan Bazely

Our data entry website (separate from this site) is protected by industry standard encryption technology, in the form of public-key SSL encryption. In practice, this means that any data sent to our servers is protected from eavesdropping. You can check the security of the connection by looking at the URL (address) bar in your internet browser. You should see a security symbol, often in the form of a green bar, in front of the URL. Also, our secure site addresses start with “https”, rather than “http”. We use Comodo. as our encryption key provider, which means that anybody can verify our security connection. If you would like to check for yourself, you can visit an SSL verification website, and enter our secure domain “online.ddc.uk.net” into the URL field.

Some of our clients have problems with warnings about the SSL certificate before they enter the site. Whilst we cannot attempt diagnose unknown problems on individual computers, you can be assured that we take security extremely seriously and that any security issues will be dealt with immediately. Pressing F5 may help to re-load the page and resolve any issues.
